The United Aircraft Corporation considers the possibility of localization and production of the Superjet 100 regional jet in India, UAC CEO Yuri Slyusar said on the sidelines of the international aerospace exhibition Aero India 2023, which takes place at Yelahanka air base in Bangalore.
He mentioned as one of the topical issues the possibility of starting the production of SSJ100 aircraft in the basic version with the European certificate at the facilities of HAL, which produces military equipment. Russia offers the possibility of localizing other civilian projects as well.
«The Sukhoi SuperJet project, the possibility of localization and production here in India we are considering. We already have experience of serial production here. Sukhoi SuperJet in imported guise is more produced in Russia. India can buy components with our help and with our components can build a complete Indian airframe and supply it to the domestic market and the markets of friendly countries. I think this is interesting for India. Getting a modern civil aircraft with our help now is a step forward,» RIA Novosti quoted the UAC CEO as saying.
According to him, the 100-seat machine is in demand, primarily for domestic traffic. «The country is big, in our opinion such planes will do. Well, we are ready to provide all necessary assistance both technologically and technically, because India is our great friend. We would like this friendship to develop not only in the military sphere but also in the civil one,» added Yuri Slyusar.
He also noted that in addition to the Superjet, Russia offers India IL-114-300 aircraft and cooperation on the MS-21 medium-range airliner.

At the international aerospace exhibition Aero India 2023, General Director of Irkut Corporation Andrei Boginsky said that the possibility of producing air components for civilian projects is being discussed with India.
«Today, we are generally discussing with potential partners not only the issue related to possible industrial cooperation, but also other forms of cooperation: production of components here or the use of existing components for various civilian projects,» he said.
According to Boginsky, it is not just a question of production, but also of supporting the sales system and creating a turnkey product. «Our task is to work out, together with potential Indian colleagues, how, according to the Make in India program, to take advantage of this business model,» said the head of Irkut.
